context menu ideas
hi orux.
in other map applications (eg googles own maps), a double click means zoom/center and a long click is (more or less) a context menu. maybe it would be a good idea to make oruxmaps behave similar? context menu on double click isnt really intuitive and also makes it more difficult to hit a spot with accuracy.
accuracy is a problem when setting waypoints with the context menu. you could help this by placing a (temporary) marker on the map where the click happened and make the menu slightly (80%?) transparent.
or even better... do it a bit more like google maps: a long click anywhere on the map should not open a menu right away. instead, you show a "bubble" pinpointing the exact location of the click. this bubble immediately displays:
N34.1234 E12.8673, 2430m
3.4km from <closest waypoint in database>
4.8km from <closest track in database>
geocoded address in one line (only when online, appearing a bit delayed, no blocking main task with network)
if i'm unhappy with the bubble/point position, i can simply longclick again and correct. when i'm happy, i click into the bubble and get my context menu with plenty possibilities, eg
*Create Waypoint
*New Route To Here
*Maps
*etc
I also want to be able to click the nearest waypoints/tracks/routes and then the exact same context menu as if i would click them in the waypoint/track/route list.

Hi, thanks;
I have problems with long press and other gestures; because of that I am using double tap. But I will try to use long press for contextual menu.
Also I am investigating with a like bubble menu.
