Re: turn the screen off
Same as I suggested as an additional option to dimming.

Re: turn the screen off
I am still interested in this feature. I would save energy for backligh, but would switch it on with just touching the screen. This is especially imortant while biking. Switch on and unlock screen is bit complex during cycling.

Re: turn the screen off
I had the same problem on a Samsung Galaxy plus. By installing "no lock" I managed that I don't have to use the slider to switch the backlight on again. I still have to use the hardware button which is possible even with a glove.starbright wrote:I am still interested in this feature. But I do have a suggestion:
It would be nice if Oruxmaps would switch the backlight on when getting near any waypoint on a loaded route. Then I could plan my route at home, put waypoints shortly after and behind each junction and oruxmaps would switch the backlight - orientation would be easier.
Muchas gracias por todo desde un frio alemania!

I'm also interested in this feature. The suggestion of Christian is great.

turn the screen off would be great
hi there,
i'm new to orux and really impressed so far. By now I used OziExplorer CE for several Years and now changed to Android + ORUX. Just to push this thread again...
It would be great to get a simple possibilty to switch the sreen off completely while cycling. By now I use "Intelliscreen" to switch display off after 3 minutes of inactivity. This, together with "NoLock" does the job... almost. It would be really great if we could switch display completly off via one big Screenbutton. Doing a "normal" System-Lock would be enough. In combination with "NoLock" that should work perfect for me (and others?)
Is there a chance to implement this?
Cheers.
P.S.: As there are many apps in playstore which perform a systemlock it could be, that it would be enough to implement a "Userdefined" Screenbutton where we can start an app, that locks the system. What do you think?

turn the screen off
Hi everybody,
I'm new to this forum, because I was looking for the "screen off" option now since days.
As others wrote in this topic I would really appreciate, if this function would be implemented.
Other Nav-Apps like Google Navigation or OsmAnd behave like this. The screen gets dark and just touching the display brings the map back.
During cycling it is really a pain to finger for a button all the time.
So please, give it a try
Thx!
