Works, but stops after about 5 minutes. Tracklog is not affected, this works, therefore, it seems to be a LED problem, at least on the HTC Hero ... This is 100% reproducable ...

Strange; on my "dream", led continues after 20 minutes;

This weekend I am going to do some large trekkings. I will post results.
