me too :-)
... and in my dreams Orux gives me a warning by drawing a route when the climbing is above 16% (for biking, customizable)

I do not know if it is possible with last market version, but with last beta-->www.oruxmaps.com/cs
you can create a route an see the profile if you have DEM files downloaded.
an example:

Re: How to see Elevation profile
This looks great!
But: I can´t see this elevation profile on my defy+, neither in the actual market version nor in the actual beta version.
DEM Files (.hgt) are downloaded and the dem folder is set.
Any suggestions?
How can I test if the hgt-Files work proper?
And a remark: Route drawing modus on defy: half of the display is covered black and with the drawing-buttons by holding the phone in horizontal positon. I even can´t see the actual cursor position. This means: Drawing a route wih defy is only in vertical phone position possible?!
Thanks!

Hi,
you have to enable the lateral dashboard and use landscape mode
settings-user interface--miscellaneous.
I will try to reduce the controls to create the tracks by hand.

Re: How to see Elevation profile
ok, now I can see the evelation profile scheme at the right side. but by drawing a track, the altitude line is always flat = 0 meters !?
maybe something is not correct with my hgt-files? how to check?
is there another way to check if the hgt files are correctly used?
the 3D-View of my place is working well. Is this also using hgt-Files?
do I need a special map? I use openandromaps.
thanks for more suggestions!
addition: I just installed the new release 5.5.0: Still the same problem

elevation profile, up and down elevation meter claculation and time calculation
Hi Orux,
First I would like to congratulate you for the very good job you did up to now. I am also happy to see that you compile user requests. I downloaded your free application to test it first and I would be very happy to "buy" the donate version. However it is for me very important to be able to see the detailed profile of a planned route and why not the total up and down climbing meters. The best would be to do the time calculation depending on the transport mode (on foot, bicycle)
I download the DEM Data. The 3D map functionality and the altitude at the cursor place work fine. However I saw lacks concerning elevation profile graph. I tested this functionality in your app but the altitudes of a planned route is only calculated on the selected points and not in between. Moreover I've noticed that it is not possible to save a route when it is automatically routed!
I made some research and here is what I would like (but on Android for sure ;-) : https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/maps-3d-gps-tracks-for-bike/id391304000?mt=8
I found that someone used you app to do this job but is unfortunately not integrated. You can maybe contact him to see if you cannot find a solution to merge this functionality in your app?!? http://brensche.de/brouter/
Hope that will help you to continue to develop your app.
Regards,
Gaël

Hi, Gaël;
brouter should be working with oruxmaps, if you use 'route--search route' and you select BRoute (offline) instead of Cloudmade. Of course, you need Broute installed and working.
About saving the calculated route, if you tap the first point of the calculated route, there is a 'save the route' button.
About altitude, you are right, I think that the servers does not provide this value, I will try to add if DEM files available.
