Lock Touchscreen while guiding to use in rain

after bad experience again yesterday while biking in a storm with my defy touchscreen I am asking now for a solution like that:

Rain/water makes the touchscrenn going mad. would be fine to keep orux running (in guiding mode) and to lock the touchscreen. end locking could be a hardware button or for example to turn the phone vice versa (should not happen while biking with GPS... :-)

in my situation yesterday that would worked perfect. so I as sanding in a mudy forest not knowing where to ride and everything was so weat that I didnt get the display dry...

My thoughts exactly, having to lock the screen and effectively stopping navigation only for fear of rain drops doing random stupid things on your phone is far from optimal.

I'm just not sure if the benefit for us few Defy users in the rain really outweighs the minor annoyance of added UI clutter for all the other Orux users?

I think it is not only a Defy (phone is water resistant) -problem:

if you use an other smart phone with a case / protection box - as some bikers do- , the problem will be the same!
