Hi!

I really appreciate the new/planned features, specially the possibility to show swiss coordinates. Additionally I'd like to have different maps for different scales. When I zoom out, the map should change and not only scale down.

For a next Desktop Map Version it would be useful for me to use .tiff images with .tfw (world files).

Are there any plans to publish Orux Maps as Open Source? I've done a similar application (more on the information exchange part) for windows mobile and published it as open source (http://sourceforge.net/projects/misos/ , most part is in German...) and maybe I can help you developing Orux Maps...

Best regards,

Christoph

Hi, Christoph; first of all, thanks for your comments!

I'm thinking of supporting maps in layers, but it will require a single iteration. v.1.6 or v.1.8, I am not sure.

I did not know anything this format. I have been reading about it, and will not be difficult to extract calibration info from them. The problem is that datum and projection must be extracted from the .txt file. and each calibration system uses its own nomenclature "North American Datum 1927" or "ND27" or ...It is going to be hard do a mapping between all reference systems (or let it as a manually process).

Next days I am going to work with "compe" and "tfw" systems.

Well, really I do not know what I am going to do. OruxMaps is now a little big monster; I need to stop and rewrite/comment a lot. But I am happy now, with no problems related with shared works.

I will keep you informed Smile
