Re: Shapefiles
is it topic being considered?
if it is, count me in!!
it would be great to be able to load some vector layer on top of my raster maps...

Re: Shapefiles
Hi, I'm no programmer, but I used some open source software for displaying maps in the past.
have you ever see the UMN MapServer software (http://mapserver.org/)?
it's a cgi server, that's able to read a multitude of file formats, from vector to raster, online and offline, showing everything together, with different formats for the vectors.
it's not meant to be used on a mobile platform as Android, but I remember some tests showing it's speed on really old hardware.
it's code is in C, but I think that there's a possibility to use something from it if you use the android ndk.
sorry for trying to influence your work. your software is incredible, and I'd like to see it going further.
best regards,
Xavier
