Speed Up Satellite Fix for GPS

This works for rooted phones only! If you don't know what this means your phone probably isn't. (If you're interested in gaining more control of your device, use search term "root" along with your device name. It's not hard but will void your warranty!)

I followed the instructions and it does seem to have helped. I haven't truly put it to the test though. You can also try an app called fasterfix. Still requires root though.

Update (Nov 5, 2011):
I went to a park to go hiking, turned on gps and opened gps status. My agps was 5 days old and I got a fix in 14 seconds!
