Most effective format: rmap or orux ?

I have a lot of ECW maps to convert for use with OruxMaps. I can convert them to rmap with compegps or to oruxmap own format.
I wonder what is the most effective format for OruxMaps.

Maps are small, size of each map is 8192x8192.

rmap should be faster, it is not a database.

for large maps, rmap is faster, but first load can take some seconds,

If rmap is faster is it possible to create rmap files with mobac, I tried using RMaps SQLite but when loaded into the maps directory Oruxmaps wouldn't see it.

No, Rmaps Sqlite is an application; .rmap maps are for another app. Select TwoNav (RMAP) format in MOBAC.
