Vector Data Overlaid on Raster Maps

Just wondering if a feature would be possible to overlay vector data (.map format) on top of raster maps?

This feature would be very useful in aviation. Airspace boundaries and associated aviation data is typically in vector format. This is most helpful when overlaid on a raster topographical maps. Does the Mapsforge Overlay API address only a 'pure' vector product, or does it potentially combine the two in the MapView.
