Map creator driving me crazy

OK this drives me crazy all the time.

I am downloading a map.
Not a huge one, but the server is slow and it takes time.

I want to do something else with the phone in the while, as setting the alarm clock for tomorrow trip (that's what just happened).
I press "Home" on my phone, go to the alarm app, I set it. Quite trivial so far.

Now I open the RECENT APPS menu and I go back to Orux.
WTF, the download is gone. Stop.

I have to:
refresh map list
go to resume map
click one button before being able to selecting a map (this is one step that could be avoided)
finally resume the dowload.

For this very reason every time I download maps with Oruxmaps I TRY not to do anything with the phone. Also, I leave it plugged with screen on, elsewhere if it goes standby for a long time (like, one hour) the download STOPS TOO. And if that happens while I sleep, in the morning I'll not have my map.



Sorry for the rant, but it is a while that I wanted to write this and I waited too much and that JUST HAPPENED AGAIN

this is not normal, unless you have activated 'destroy activities immediately' in android development settings,

Oh my god. That's why nobody complained about that. Sorry!

How can I find that setting? I went to Settings -> Applications -> Development but in the options I could not find anything similar to "destroy activities immediately".

settings-->Developer options-->'Do not keep activities'

Hello, I run Cyanogen 7.1. If I open "Settings" there is no "Developer options". I guess the custom ROM provides different settings; I am going to ask on that board.

unfortunately there is no "developer options" app on my phone.

I am thinking to upgrade to cyanogen 7.2 though, maybe that will solve the bug (?)

I use a program called Mobile Atlas Creator on my PC. That makes Offline map creating to a Kinderspiel

I am aware of MOBAC, but I often travel without computer and I love to be able to create maps from Orux before the hike / cycle trip.
That's why I regularily push mister Orux to raise the limit of downloadable maps size!
