Resetting statitstics on a muli-day hike

I just got back from a multi-day backpacking trip along the Appalachian Trail. Each day I would start OruxMaps, open the track and start a new section. My hope was that with the new section the statistics would be reset for that day. But what I found was that the time, speed, distance was always the entire trip.

Is there a way to continue the same track, but have the statistics reset? I was wanting this so that I could monitor each days progress to see how we were doing. To get this, must I create a new track per day?

i'm sure that you can do it using others services like endomondo.com , export every day GPX file
