map blocks not side by side
Hi,
With my custom maps, I noticed that when I reach a block border, there is a big blue gap between each map block, is this normal ?
regards.

OruxMaps can not load more than one map.
What you want implies more than one map loaded at the same time.
I am working with this, but it is not easy (overlaped maps, map with different scale,....)

So you mean that the gap is "normal" and if I move around it will "jump" from one side of the gap to the other side and will not stay in the middle ?

Hi, dodfr;
I'm not sure what it means 'map block' for you. If a block is the boundary of a map, then until the cursor (the center of the screen) does not leave the map, OruxMaps not seeking another map to load.
If a block is one/more missing tiles (there is a blue square in the middle of the map) then it is probable that the map is not well created.

Re: map blocks not side by side
Block = Tile
All 4000*4000 pixels tiles are present, no one is missing it's only when I move to tile boudaries then there is this big gap before I see the next tile.

Hi;
This is the right behaviour. Your 'block' (tile) is a 'map' for OruxMaps.
I am working to do a seamless navigation between maps. But it is not present in current versions.

Ok, also a little problem, when I move from one "map" to other, then the zoom level (if I unzoomed a bit for example) is not kept, I go back to 1:1 zoom.

Yes, it is right;
may be in next future this will be configured. Note that you can have maps with different scales mixed. In many circumstances, it's best to 1:1 when changing map.

Maps with different scale mixed ? You mean I could mix a map with 1:25000 and 1:50000 version ?
I also have 1:50000 maps for same region that permit a more general view with less details but some different hiking path drawed on it.

Hi;
Yes;
You can create a new folder, with 1:50000 maps inside.
If your 1:25000 maps are not created with 'multilayer' option of OruxMapsDesktop, then OruxMaps should jump form 1:25000 to 1:50000 when doing zoom.

Re: map blocks not side by side
But how orux knows it is a 1:25000 or 1:50000 map ?

When you create a map with OruxMapsDesktop, it calculates the aproximate equivalent level of the map to the google maps level system, from 0 to 21.
You can see this value inside .otrk2.xml file:
<MapCalibration layers="false" layerLevel="11">
OruxMaps uses this value to jump from one map to another if you zoom in/out.
For example, if you are in a map level 10, you do zoom in, and you have a map at level 11, at the seme position, then OruxMaps should load this new map.
