Hi all,
First a big thank for this fabulous application!!
This is my problem.
I use many ozi maps and work in local ( not internet ) with a good gps signal.
But because there is a deviation between my position and the reality, I decided to use "map calibration" feature.
Every time I try that, orux switch between world map and "my map" every second !! There is no way to stop that. Even in the main screen.
What I'm doing :
- First choose map offline here
- Wait for a good gps signal position, my position is displayed with 200m error.( no error with online maps)
- Choose "map calibrator"
- press the "+" key ( I have a god signal )
- I slide the screen to feet my real position ( I'am in default zoom , 100%)
- I press the check key to valid my position and obtain a message that position is accepted ans not permanent.

After that the screen switch between world map and "my map" every second..

Any idea on what append ?? What I'm doing wrong?

you are right;

meanwhile I solve the problem, you can:

- First choose map offline here

-->STOP GPS
- Choose "map calibrator"
- press the "+" key ( I have a god signal )
- I slide the screen to feet my real position ( I'am in default zoom , 100%)

But first of all: what is not working fine with OruxMapsDesktop when you calibrate your maps?

thanks for fast response.
Effectively it work with your trick Very Happy .

But first of all: what is not working fine with OruxMapsDesktop when you calibrate your maps?

What do you mean ? I have no problem with your software.
I have a lot of scanned map, so I used OruxMapsDesktop with batch converter. I simply give the source map and the destination map, no more option. After a while all my maps where converted. I notice no problems or warnings during the convertion.

I think that my original map are correctly calibrated because when I use ozi explorer and take an identified position with the mouse cursor, I obtain the same coordinate with google map on my phone or with my outdoor magelan gps. But with orux there is a deviation of approx 200m
Tell me if I can help in something ..

Note that coordinate appear both in field point01 to point04 and MMPLL,1 to MMPLL,2 . I don't know if they are the same coordinate.

I see that the values of corner are the same from the field MMPLL of the ozi file. But what about point1 to point4 ? is it the same coordinate ? I'm not specialist to respond to that...

Hi all,
for those who like me use french maps under ozi explorer and have location problem this is how to resolve the problem:

You have to force 'Transverse Mercator' projection in OruxMapsDesktop. I do not know why, but Ozi uses Latitude/longitude projection with France maps, and it is not correct for OruxMaps.

You have to use these parameters, for transverse mercator projection in OruxMapsDesktop:
latitude origin: 45.0
longitude origin: 5.0
k: 0.9996
false east: 0.0
false north: 0.0

You have to use 'restart maps source' button in the map selector view, if you change maps by hand (edit the xml file), or replace them with other with the same name.

The coordinates in the xml should be right.


After the gps position is correct.
