All features of the new beta seem to work quite well.
But I don't understand what the new features mean:

text to speech (Spanish, French, German, English) --> Configuration--> Text to Speech
track logging mode-->distance, average speed,
heart rate--> Bpm, ...
following a route, wpt nav--> Distance to target, ETE

Should the phone announce e.g. the heart rate?
Would you be so kind to explain it a bit?

If you enable TTS, then you should hear some voice messages:

track logging mode:
Elapsed time xx
Distance xx
Average Speed xx

following a route/wpt navigating:
Distance to target xx
Estimated time enroute xx

track logging + heart rate on:
Heart rate xx
Average heart rate xx

if track logging + heart rate on + enable max/min heart rate alarm:
Attention, heart rate below the minimum, xx
Attention, heart rate higher than the maximum, xx

'distance for TTS' are the units of distance for TTS. For example, if you use 'kilometres' as distance units, then if 'distance for TTS' is set to '2' then you will hear the messages each 2 km.

for max/min heart rate alarm, you have to:
1.-set a value in 'settings'--'heart rate'
2.-enable max/min heart rate alarm in 'settings'--'Text to speech/sounds'

Oruxmaps is my favorit toy at present time.
I like to try new features and that motivates me
very often to make a bike tour.
So my health insurance should donate to Orux.
Obviously you are not runing out of new ideas.
Today I tried tts. It is not what I need most urgently.
But is great fun.
It is perfect to choose announcment every 1 or 10 km.
But why not add a button which would start announcement
of the chosen data if you want it?
You could then listen to it - even the data you don't see
on the screen.
