How to calculate length and expected duration of a route?

Hi folks
I use Oruxmaps very often and I am excited about the many features that it has.
I have seen that it is also able to calculate distances and time to a destination. However it seems to work only with Gps fixed and related to the current position.

Is it possible to create a route by using waypoints e.g. in the country where I want to spend my holiday and to calculate the length of that route in advance. Is it possible to store that route or the choosen sequence of waypoints?

How does this algorithm work when inverting the route.

I would be very happy if somebody could answer my questions
