Can't move to another phone

Since this is my first post here, first let me congratulate for the excellent product.

A few weeks ago my phone became unusable, as a portion of the touch screen is not responding. I've bought a new Android phone and yesterday I tried to copy the OruxMaps database (creating a tar of /mnt/sdcard/oruxmaps and expanding on the new phone). But when I restarted OruxMaps it says there are no tracks. I thought it was due to the fact that the OruxMaps version on the new phone was different, so I managed in upgrading OruxMaps on the old phone. At this point, tracks became unavailable even in the old phone. I'm sure tracks were available before this operation.

Please let me know what I have to do. I can tweak things as I'm a software engineer with some experience with Android.

check if you have te correct folder selected in 'settings--tracks--tracks folder'

Yes, the directory is correct. Consider that on my old phone I could see the list of tracks to export before the latest update. Furthermore, yesterday I've recorded a new track, I can see the path in red color over the map, but when I go to the "tracks" screen it says there are no tracks.

(note, the directory has been listed on a copy of the files on my computer).

Just to understand better, can you confirm that all the data are stored in the db? What are those .gpx files? I mean, I've never explicitly exported tracks into GPX there as far as I remember.
