3.5.20 - custom buttons not working anymore?

Hi, I really like the new "submenu" buttons in 3.5.20, but since I (also) run Oruxmaps on my new tablet I would like to add some "shortcuts" and new menu entries. I have tried to do this via the button customization option in settings, but it does not matter what I do, the buttons are still the same.

I have restarted (hard kill) oruxmaps after my changes.

Is this feature not yet working with new button layout?

As far as i know, it's not (yet?) possible to edit the new top menu bar. But you can add "shortcuts" to the legt and right menu. Orux posted a screenshot in the general section in a conversation with uli about the new beta. I removed the "reset" zoombutton that way, because i don't use it
