3.5.20: not filling whole screen on tablet
I run OruxMaps 3.5.20 on Asus Transformer - it is 10' tablet. I see that on the left and right sides, when I move map, leftmost and rightmost tiles are not filled. I see it with Google maps (online). When I the moving the map slightly more, tiles get fetched. Upper and bottom corners are OK.
On the phone, I do not observe this issue, using same version.
I can't find how to attach screenshot, is it a way to do so?

Re: 3.5.20: not filling whole screen on tablet
I can confirm the same thing happens on a 7" tablet with resolution 1024x600. Sometimes it doesn't fill, sometimes it's ok.

Hi;
I am going to release a new version that should solve this issue, with a big cache of tiles for large screens.
The problem is that I still do not have a tablet, and it is not easy to test with the emulator.

Hi,
May be you can test last beta version; you should see the map using 100% of the screen, at 100% zoom level.

Re: 3.5.20: not filling whole screen on tablet
The rendering has improved but I'm still having issues (using v3.5.24). Moving out from level 18 to level 12 in Google Earth works fine. Starting at level 11, tiles start to disappear and won't fill. By about level 7, large parts of the screen are missing and from level 5, the majority of the display isn't rendered.
Google Maps works fine throughout all levels.
A possible cause might be the paltry RAM on my device (256MB) on a 1024 x 600 display. I also note that with OruxMaps running and going into 'Manage Applications' in Android, OruxMaps shows 0.00B in the Cache figure. Is this unusual?

Re: 3.5.20: not filling whole screen on tablet
minor bug
3.5.24 the map scale returns even if it is off
It goes away then messing with something else it can return?
might be hard to cause it to happen. but it was with alternative dashboard, then menu select to create waypoint.
the Old dashbord is now Small dash, so there is big dash and small dash, its so cute :-)
In the tracks menu (specifically) i was Selecting & deleting tracks and the menu kept comming up (time for click vrses hold)
i was missing the checkmark button, duhh, nevermind.

Hmmm,
Fortunately I already have my tablet, so I'll test without having to use the horrible tablet emulator

This only happens with curser at bottom.
Re: 3.5.20: not filling whole screen on tablet
Is the blue screen between maps meant to be fixed on 3.5.26? I'm still seeing it.
Also on v3.5.26, map rendering has the issue I posted about a few posts previous on this thread. With Google Earth, maps tiles are not rendering consistently. All Google Earth layers between 18 to 12 are good, 11 is inconsistent, 10 is always good, 9-1 is poor.
If I had to guess, I would say it's some issue with the Google Earth tile server not having scaled imagery for that layer at the latitude and projection???

Hi;
The problem is simple to solve, adding more tiles to the active cache tiles. I wanted to do some tests, to avoid OutOfMemory problems. It seems that the with tablets (at least in my asus) there is no problems. Shortly I will publish a new beta.
I have no problems with google earth. Try clearing the cache (OruxMaps main screen, menu - remove from cache).

Re: 3.5.20: not filling whole screen on tablet
Cool. It work's fine!!! Good work!
A little imrovement?: The map is "vibrating" a little. Is it posible to create an "absorber" to make it little smoother?
Another Idea: I know it from old Oziexplorer (WinMo) - there was an automatic logbook with configurable entries i.e. if speed reaches 50 kn make an logbook entry with position and time stamp. Or make an entry when reaching a waypoint....
That would be great.
BTW: I think it is time to make another donation.
Bye
