Calculation Error?

You are right; there is a bug.

But remember that, when you are in 'recording a track' mode, ETA and ETE are calculated using average speed, not current speed:

avg speed: 74.29 kn
distance to next wpt: 42.4 nm
ETE: 34,24 minutes -->OK

The bug, whe calculating total ETE is that ETE to next point is added twice:
avg speed: 74.29 kn
distance to final wpt: 117.48 nm
ETE: should be: 1h:34 minutes but you see 1h:34 minutes + 34 minutes = 2h:09 minutes.

I can add a more sophisticated calculation for ETE and ETA, (for example average speed of last xx minutes,....) but I think current speed should not be a good value.

Average last 5 minutes should be ok.
In my case actual speed would be good cause the cruising speed is mostly the same.

Hi Orux,

Could I request the averaging time-frame be user selectable. The reason I ask is that some flying I do requires arrival at a destination within a couple of seconds (flypasts for example). Near instantaneous speed is required to alter airspeed to achieve the required accuracy.

A user selectable drop-down allowing seconds through to minutes averaging would be great.
