Altitude correction not working.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I'm doing something incorrectly. When I click on a recorded a track, one of the options is to 'Correct Altitude'. When I choose to correct altitude I get a pop-up asking if I want to correct the altitude and that elevations are courtesy of MapQuest. I choose yes, the screen says processing and after a while it says error uploading data.

Also, can you explain the option of 'deleting old'. Does this replace the actual recorded elevation data with the uploaded ones from MapQuest? If I don't delete, then how is the uploaded elevation stored and will it be used when I import the track into an online tracking service?

It sometimes works with short tracks, but with bigger files not.
