Bug: Deleting waypoints etc.

Bug: Oruxmaps 2.6 on my Desire only deletes newly created waypoints from the maps when I use the "Delete waypoints" button. It does not delete waypoints that have been loaded into the map from the wpt database. This applies both to waypoints created with Oruxmaps 2.6, and to wpts created with earlier versions.

I have also experienced instabilites when using waypoints and routes. This especially concerns the functions "Route alarm" and "Wpt alarm", which frequently do not work - especially when I put the phone asleep (and this is of course when these functions are most needed). Sometimes, the function "Wpt alarm" does not seem to work even if the phone is not asleep and Oruxmaps is running in the foreground.

I'll come back with more detailed info when I have time to check this systematically.

Not sure How do you want to delete the waypoints.
You can delete wpts in two ways:
-->with current track, onscreen wpts button, delete.
-->menu--waypoints, select a wpt, then delete.

But you can not delete a wpt from a route loaded into the map viewer (only Cache, Goto options).

Not sure How do you want to delete the waypoints.
You can delete wpts in two ways:
-->with current track, onscreen wpts button, delete.
-->menu--waypoints, select a wpt, then delete.

Please excuse me if I have misunderstood how Oruxmaps works. The bug (if there is one!) can be found in this way:

1.Open Orumaps
2.Choose “Actual location”
3.Choose “Menu” > Waypoints
4.Choose a wpt and select the option “Load in map”. The wpt appears on the map.
5.Use the onscreen “Delete tracks and Waypoints” button (the broom)
6.Answer “yes” to the question “Delete tracks and waypoints?”
7.Bug (?): The wpt does not disappear from the map

This is contrary to what happens if I do the following:

1.Exit Oruxmaps (Menu > Exit from main screen), and load the program again.
2.Choose “Actual location”
3.Move the map so that the cursor (the “blue cross”) is situated at a point where you want to create a waypoint.
4.Create the wpt by pressing the onscreen “Create wpt” button. Give the wpt a name and choose “Accept”
5.Delete the wpt by using the onscreen “Delete tracks and wpts” button (the broom).
6.The wpt disappears (as expected).

It is not a bug, but it is my fault, because I have not explained how those buttons work

You can see two things over the map:

-->a track. It is something live, you can add wpts to the current track, you can add a path (red line) to the track using 'track logging' button (starts recording a track).
you can remove current track from screen using 'clean' button.

-->a route. It is dead, you can not add/delete wpts/track points to a route. A route can have wpts and/or a path (blue line). You load a route (remember, a set of wpts or/and a path) from menu--tracks (load a track as a route) or from menu--wpts (to map as a route, or to map) or using on screen route button (if there is none loaded). You manage (clean, follow,...) the routes using 'route' onscreen button.

But not easy to implement/explain in other way all those features.

I did some systematical tests with the route alarm today - on a new beta version of Oruxmaps, but my result should also apply to older versions.

It turns out that the route and wpt alarms always work fine so long as Oruxmaps is running in the foreground.

When the program running in the background - and when the screen is turned off - the alarms only work when track logging is activated. Witout track logging turned on, the alams only start going off when the screen is turned on again.

It would be nice to see this problem fixed - either by a warning when users attempt to exit Oruxmaps when the alarms are activated, but not track logging, or ideally by a change that lets users get their alarms without activating track logging.

You are right; when you are not in track logging mode, if you turn off the screen, OruxMaps turns off the gps, in order to save battery.
