External GPS not working
Hi!
I am running Desire with 2.2 and OruxMaps v3.
I tried using an external GPS Globalsat BT338 but the map is not moving when connected. I see a red icon with an ! in it in the top right corner.
Edit: the bluetooth connection works fine and the external GPS has fix, but no movement of map. OruxMaps says connected.

Do you see correct values (speed, altitude, bearing) in the dashboard, or --- values?

Re: External GPS not working
I see only -- values.
It is like OruxMaps doesn't receive or understand the GPS sentences from the GPS.

Hmmmm, there was a problem with some devices,
Have you tested another app (Bluetooth gps, for example)?
I am going to prepare a version with debug info for you.

Please, search in the market the application 'Bluetooth Gps' and install it.
Try to connect your bt gps with this application. If you have a fix, then turn it off, and try with OruxMaps.

Re: External GPS not working
Nope, another one which shared the GPS with a computer. I will try this one instead.
Re: External GPS not working
Tried it and it works fine, the other gets fix and data. But OruxMaps not.
Same behavior here
Hi:
I have a rather similar behavior here on a HTC Touch Pro2 with XAndroid 2.2 and a "no name" bluetoth GPS receiver. This receiver works fine with "Bluetooth GPS" and can then use it with OruxMaps. When I use the same device directly from OruxMaps then I get most of the time the first data OK then nothing anymore. The GPS Icon for the internal GPS of the phone blinks continually indicating that it does look for connection also on the internal device.
With this GPS receiver I worked already hours with a Nokia phone and a Palm device. It is based on a SIRF chip set as far as I can say.
Any progress on this issue?
Thanks
