How to make "generating maps database" faster?

Hi,

I find calibrated scanned maps of Slovenian topography. I converted them for use in Oruxmaps. They works great, but unfortunately the preparing the device (starting the oruxmaps) takes a long time. It seem loading time is improved but still I am interesting in some ways of optimizing.

I have one wish to be good in Oruxmaps. It would be great if it could open 2 calibrated pictures at the same time. The problem is, that sometimes the way is extended to 2 images. Have I clarify my problem enough?

Hi, kostas;

sure you have a wrong map, because 'preparing device' takes no time if there are no changes in the map directory.

how many maps do you have in your maps directory?

perhaps you can put your maps in folders (test last beta --> http://www.oruxmaps.com/cs) and disable some sets of maps.

About your request; I know what you want, but it is not easy. I will work with this in the future.
