Heartrate Monitor
I use the heartrate Monitor and it works quite well.
I bought it from a local distributor and donated 5€ to Oruxmaps.
My problem: the battery status shows 100% all the time.
Even after 7h of use it is still 100%.
Do I do something wrong?
Is it my problem only?
Thank you for this great software.
I like it and use it a lot for my biketours..

I installed the newest OruxMaps Beta on my HTC Desire HD.
That seems to improve the battery indicator a bit.
It came down to about 83% after several hours of use.
But in the middle of that time climbed to 100% again for
a short time.
I like it nontheless.
No problems with waypoints and tracks during my biketour today.

Yesterday I tried SportsTracker with the heartrate monitor.
The symptoms are the same. Up and down of the battery
indicator.
That means that OruxMaps is ok and the problem is caused
by the hardware of Hxm.

There is one thing with the harte-rate-graphic I don't understand:
If I load a track back into the map and then choose track statistic
I can see all the static data but the heart-rate-graphic is empty.
The data of altitude graphic are still shown.
Do I do something wrong or is it just in the system?

Heartrate Monitor
Today I gave it another try with my heartrate equipment hxm from Zephyr.
In genral it works, but there are so many peaks with heartrates I certainly
never reached (from 100 to 250 and more).
It is certainly not a fault of oruxmaps but it is a pity.
The oruxmaps heartrate diagramm is out of proportion.
Before using the heartrate data one has to erase the peaks but that is
a lot of work.
I'll give it a try with the Zephyr programm but I'm sure it will be
the same problem. It must be a fault in the Zephyr hardware or software.

Nick from Mapmytracks just wrote to me:
"I can see that the activity with heart rate was a GPX import. The GPX import now supports additional extensions for heart rate and cadence data.
An example of the data is
<gpxtpx:hr>96</gpxtpx:hr>
<gpxtpx:cad>73</gpxtpx:cad>"
Is that something oruxmap could implement?
May be only the heartrate part?

Polar Wearlink transmitter
Hello
Is Polar wearlink transmiter compatible with Orux Maps?
It is cheaper than Zephyr HxM, and Polar is doing Hear rate monitor for many years
thanks

So far I'm content with the Zephyr heart rate sensor.
The Polar has a "User replaceable battery" but is that
an advantage? Zephyr can be recharged with any usb-
port.
The indication on the OruxMaps screen is quite well and
when Orux changes data-exchange to the Garmin protocoll
it might be shown on mapmytracks too.
I'm still looking forward to that change.

That is what I found at mapmytracks concerning hertrate:
"Garmin Forerunner 305 with Heart Rate Monitor. Unfortunately MapMyTracks appears to ignore the heart rate information, so I also use SportsTracks by Zone Five Software (http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/sporttracks/) to analyse my data more closely. MapMyTracks is more of a social thing "
I'm still looking for a way to show my heartrate on mapmytracks.
and I'm the problem will be solved by Orux.

Hi, Uli;
If you upload your files to MapMyTracks, the heart monitor data is sent (not in live tracking, at the end):

I'm delighted.
The heartrate upload to mapmytracks is perfect.
If I have uploaded first a livetrack, I can upload the
track from the device after the trip (including now the heartrate)
and then delet the live track.
I like it as it is.
Thank you again.

Perfect!
It works great.
I can't see what happens on mapmytracks during
my bike tour, but it looks perfect after the tour.
I made a break today and got two tracks on mapmytracks.
Again the sum was right. No redundent data is transmitted.
New now on mapmytracks is, that the tracks can be merged.
That works perfect too. Even the heartrate diagram is right
after the merge.
You did a great job and I'm happy to donate another rate.
Thank you.

I'm back now from Camino del Norte.
OruxMaps did a great job on that bike tour.
What didn't work properly was the heartrate indicator.
First started it is all ok, but when I leave the device e.g. for
a break and come back, the heartrate will not be shown.
The only chance is a new start (finish oruxmaps and start again).
Do you think there is a way that sensor and device find each other
again?
Another little thing: The gps antenna icon is on and off all the time
in the top of my screen. Is that a problem of my device (HTC DHD)?

Today I found a way to solve my problem.
If I stop recording and take the device with
me (e.g. to the toilet) and start the recording
again after the break, communication with heartrate sensor
starts again too.

Hi, Uli;
In two days I will have a version that should solve this problem (tries to re-connect after 30 seconds if the bt connection is broken).

With the new version 3.5.22 the heartrate monitor
works fine. After a break (device looses contact to sensor)
the link is reactivated automatically.
After a short time I see a popup telling "Bluetooth is reconnected"
and again sometime later the heart rate reading does show again the
right value.
Thank you!

For some time now there are no wrong peaks in the heart rate
reading. I don't know why but rates are plausible most of the time.
Thank you for Oruxmaps.
