4.0.0 compass problems
I've a Motorola Defy with Cyanogen ROM (Android 2.3) and compass doesn't work.
The direction changes if I tilt the device forward or backward, or left and right, but does not change if I rotate on the vertical axis.
I've many other apps that use compass, and all of them works properly.

Re: 4.0.0 compass problems
4.0.0
HTC Magic (Android 2.2.1)
compass doesn't work. display (triangle on map) wrong direction. radar doesn't work either. Can not turn the magic so that all 360° can be seen in oruxmaps. applies to all axis (so not only mixed up).
gps status, gpstest etc. work without problems.

Hi;
May be you can test this version --> http://www.oruxmaps.com/OruxMaps4.1.1beta.apk
The x,y,z axis are remapped if the device is plain (over a desktop).
It is working fine in all my androids.

Same problem here, HTC Sensation
Hello..!
First of all, Orux maps is a great application, thank you!
However I'm having the same problem with the compass. I tried the beta version also but still the same.
The compass works great in other applications..

about the compass..
I have now noticed the the compass works, but only when holding the phone in an up-right position. When the phone is in a plane position, for example on a table, the compass doesn't work.
When it works it works quite slowly..

Re: 4.0.0 compass problems
Now tried with beta 4.1.10 and seems to be working, but still slowly if i compare with google locations for example..
I also wonder if there's some kind of function to find a waypoint? I work in the GIS business with advanced GPS systems. In these system there are "stake out" functions where you can choose a certain point, and then the display will show you how many meters you are from that precise location, and bearing. That would be really good..

North and South Messed up.

Hi,
I have been using Oruxmaps for a while and i love this app.
Suddenly (probably after updating android to 4.2.2 Build JDQ39) I started having Compass problems the same as described above.
When i hold the phone upright it points NORTH in the correct direction. However when i put the phone on the table it points in the opposite direction (south). So when i have my phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250) attached to my mountain bike at a 45 degree angle the compass points south instead of north and my locator (the arrow representing me) points in the opposite direction of where i am going (I like using the Map mode "oriented by compass").
I just updated my Oruxmaps to the 5.2.2.beta2 and this did not solve the problem.
Hope you can help!
Thanks
Ilya
p.s. a while back i bought the 4.8.61 version of oruxmaps and it too has the same issue.
