GPS distance + Compass

Hello,

I have a newbie question. Let me describe what I would like to do.
I am standing somewhere on te map, showing through the gps. From that point I would like to walk a certain amount of degrees, for example 200 degrees for exactly 400 meters.

Can I put this in Orux (and so yes, how?) and would it be visible in a line so that when I am not ëxactly walking the desired degrees/compass heading it would be visible on the map.

Hi fruitvlieg ,

This is possible:

1. start the GPS to get your location
   
2. when Oruxmaps has set the location go to create track (curving arrow with a pencil against it in the top menu) click the '+' to set the start point which is your location,
   
3. Drag the map, (you will see the distance and degrees under the create track controls) when you get the distance/degrees you require click '+'
   
4. select the tick, you have created the track with the line.

This can be loaded at any time from manage tracks.

There is another way.

1.start gps, wait for a gps position fix
2.create a wpt, using 'projection' checkbox (enter distance and bearing)
3.then 'navigate to' that waypoint.

mine is better; can be used without using the gps, or to concatenate several points
