Waypoints and vector
I have two things:
- The Waypoints are now connected to the active track. When I clear the track from my display, I also clear the waypoints from the display (not from database). For track related waypoints this is very convenient, but there are also waypoints you always want to show when a certain map is displayed (interesting points, startpoints of routes, etc). You can now manually select the waypoints to show, but this is only temporarily. Maybe you can add an option to connect a waypoint to a certain map (when this specific map displays, the waypoint is automatically displayed as well). Maybe there could be a third option to display always (Home Sweet Home)....
- The vector option is wonderful!!! I can now have more detailed maps on my device. I have two questions about the rendering of these vector maps:
1. Is this more energy consuming compared to displaying a non vector map? I have no idea about the cpu load of rendering tiles, compared to the non vector map display.
2. When the display is off (while tracking), are the tiles being rendered anyhow? Or is this tile rendering suspended? Last option would be preferred, since it reduces power consumption (I suppose). When you get the device from standby, rendering will be fast enough to display the map at current position.
Just some thoughts which could make a super OruxMaps even better (at least for me ).

Hi,
About wpts, I will think about your suggestion.
About vector maps:
Yes they are more cpu intensive, because OruxMaps has to paint every thing. But when the screen is off, nothing is drawn, only minimal work is done (update track values). So, do not worry about battery using vector maps.

Hi Orux,
Firstly thanks for this awesome program. I've been using it since I got my first Android phone, and it's my most frequently used application when I travel, which is quite often.
I would like to express my support for Oruxmaps to implement track-independent POIs. One of the best uses of Oruxmaps is as a tourist map. I find places of interest in Google maps (museums, attractions, hotels, train stations, etc), export them as KML, and then import them into Oruxmaps.
But these POIs are treated as Waypoints by Oruxmaps. They are removed from the map when I start a new track, either manually or when recording a new GPS track. They are also removed from the map whenever I close and reopen Oruxmaps, so I have to very frequently open the Waypoint manager, reset filter, select all waypoints, and click "See waypoints on map(the button with the eye icon)". It's quite tedious to do this 4 step-procedure several times a day, sometimes within an hour.
It would be really awesome if you could make POIs permanent and independent of tracks/routes. Perhaps allow the user to create different lists of POIs which he can activate or deactivate as needed, something like how Locus Free does it.
Thanks for the great application.
