Caching tiles for vector maps
Hi,
I love vector maps, however the rendering is very slow especially with some of the garmin maps. Would it be possible to cache some number of tiles and also render some tiles around current position or direction of anticipated movement in advance? It may be my low-end hardware but even for users with much faster hardware there could be some battery saving when some tiles are cached.
Also, when rendering takes a long time and the area has been already pre-rendered in another zoom-level it would be very nice if that tile could be compressed/expanded to wanted zoom level for a quick overview - many times I find myself move or zoom somewhere else quickly and could avoid the wait for exact rendering.
