Longitude 180 bugs
Longitude 180 bugs
Any maps that span longitude 180 or even reach longitude 180 cause problems due to wrap-around and negative numbers. For example something that goes from longitude 175E to 175W is considered to be from -175 to 175 degrees and spans most of the planet instead of just the 10 degrees it should.
This causes problems when using maps of the Pacific, some maps of New Zealand, Siberia and some Pacific islands.
There doesn't seem to be any obvious work around other than producing maps from scratch that are chopped in half, and there is no easy way to do that either.
Any ideas?
