I don't know from which version it happend first,
but if I now combine two tracks, heart rate and calories get lost.
Both are still there in the not combined tracks, but don't show up
in the statistics of the combined track.

I raised this in the Bugs section in April where it got fixed in the next update. I haven't used merge for sometime but it seems some recent update broke it again..

In the Beta 5.0 18 Version it worked again.
