Download maps from phone with no pc

This would a really useful feature. Sometime I forget to download maps when I have my pc and want to download some small section while I don't have my pc. For instance while driving to hike I'll usually have wireless connection on the road, but will lose it in the mountains so want to be able to load a small map using the phone alone. Bigplanet can do this I think but lacks many of the cool features orux has.
