How to use Garmin IMG files?

Can anyone guide me through this? What do i need to do to use these.

Thanks, Is there a way to create a directory or something to link many IMG files together so that they work seamlessly with each other? I'd like to specify whole states at a time.

You can make a folder on your phone with any file browser. If you install OI File Manager (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.openintents.filemanager&hl=es), then you can do so directly from Oruxmaps.
In the settings (Settings> Maps) you can then select the directory where you will copy your maps and always look there. You can also create subfolders within the folder and organize maps in them. I have my maps in a folder named external_sd/Oruxmaps/Mapas in the external SD Card.

Thankyou, you have been helpful. I now have all the IMG files in a new folder in "mapfiles" and I can get the maps to work fine as long as I dont cross to a different tile. When I use the "Switch map here" setting it will ask me if I would like to use the next tile. So I'm getting close, but what I would like is to have it switch to the needed tile on its own without asking.

Well, I dont know what I did, but now it doesnt ask anymore to go between tiles! It's a little slow loading, but its working. The only problem now is that is zooms really close on the new tile, so I'm playing with those settings now.

I thought I would give this a try. I have a garmin .img file that was output from OSM data, works fine on any garmin GPS I have tried it on.

I copied it to the phone into the required folder, I can see it there, but, in offline maps "mode" there are no maps listed?

Where have I gone wrong?

I created a folder (UTTOPO in my case) and put just the .img files in it. This folder is in the mapfiles folder.

Thanks. I created a folder, moved the file into there, and it says it loads the map, but I see no map displayed. Will try another .img file tonight.
